Remember that time it (really) sucked to be a Sébastien? Or, to be a Daniel (Elena-MCO), with the rear end of a Sébastien (Loeb-FRA) in your face as he climbs over you to get out of a crashed car first? Oh, the weird world of married couples. Anyway… Yes, this bizarrely backward chain of events (actually) happened, when (both) reigning World Champion Loeb and Citroën Total World Rally teammate, future World Champion, Ogier (FRA/co-driver Julien Ingrassia-FRA) crashed their Citroën DS3s into the forests of the Land of Plenty (Loeb in Stage 4 and Ogier in Stage 6). Though their mechanics were able to perform magic and get both cars back into the competition, the best Loeb was able to manage was 10th, with Ogier just one place behind. However, all worked out pretty okay for the pair and their non-Séb co-drivers, as the team, Loeb, and Elena would take their respective World Championships that year (and the next year, before an exit from the World Rally Championship would end Loeb’s nine-year Championship domination), with Ogier and Ingrassia taking third in their Championships (before moving to Volkswagen to develop the Polo R WRC in 2012 and becoming the first driver and co-driver to win the Championships after Loeb and Elena’s reign).
But, yes, believe it or not, this happened:
(And, yes, Elena did get a face full of Loeb’s little gymnast bottom.)
